Malaysian airlines plane missing

Recommended Posts

It would be a miracle if there are actually survivors.

Where would they land it is what I would be asking, how much fuel and what range ect.

If it has flown over those Islands it is heading toward India, Pakistan and Afganistan but the Indian military should have picked it up.

It's not seconds to triangulate a phone signal. They have messed about for so long and still are messing about I think they have missed any opportunity to use It now.

Actually, it is seconds, but even if you're not trying to triangulate a signal (which requires the phone to be switched on at that time), you can still identify which cell tower the phone is connected to, giving you an ~25mile radius for the phone to be found in.

And even better, the cell / phone connections are logged and can be retrieved in seconds. The Police use and publicise this information regularly in missing person's cases "The woman's phone was last switched on in Great Snoring".

Now, as lovely as the story that the passengers are all alive and well on some desert island, too busy sunbathing to answer their constantly ringing phones which they've kept charged by the use of solar power, is, the idea that not one official has thought to request the cell logs to find out the last connection location of all the phones is stupid. To then go further and effectively state unless we make a fuss about it they won't bother with this obvious evidence is barmy.

The "ringing" is completely expected and normal. It's trivial to monitor which cell a phone is connected to. If the phones were actually ringing, they would have been found a week ago.

Latest news is bonkers. Believed hijacked and they are investigating possible flight paths towards either Kazakhstan or the southern Indian Ocean. It was still pinging satellites 7 hours after it took off.

It now also looks like Malay military tracked it on primary radar after it banked left to fly over the Malaysian peninsula. Why didn't they challenge it? Why wait until now to admit it?

I don't see any possible way this plane could have then flown northwest into continental Asia over several countries without being challenged by military forces in any of them.

Crazy.

I think this event is becoming more unusual by the day, the imformation and the story is changing all the time.

not to mention the amount of possible disinformation thats being given out.

could it be malaysian officials are purposely confusing and misdirecting the media for their own operations and security reasons as they close in on who ever as done this?.even US Naval Military ships are getting involved now.

I know its just more speculation but

It seems a bit of a coincidence that 20 employees (scientist and engineers)of a defence capable electronics firm(Freescale) who specialise in stealth are on board this plane. 1 person is a IBM exec, these men would be worth something to quite a few foreign powers.

plus the press and the authorities seemed to have stopped talking about them.

I think the cell phone thing is largely been perpetuated by the victims families trying to deal with loss of their loved ones , just clutching at straws in the hope that they might still be alive .very sad.

I can understand why with some of the idiot imformation and storys from the malaysians and the media.

The reason for them not admitting it earlier may be because its a military radar and you don't want to tell neighboring countries the extent of coverage (or lack of) from them.

Why is this bringing out all the conspiracy nutjobs ? Was watching the news yesterday and there were the usual tinfoilhat wearing crackpots coming out with all sorts of bizarre conspiracy theories .

A few days ago I'd have shared your view but with every day that passes this looks more and more like the plot line for a scarcely believable movie.

I think they had the radar but maybe not the capability to make a challenge in time. If so it potentially raises a lot of questions about the safety of commercial air traffic in the whole region, and by extension the safety of civilians on the ground. Maybe too embarrassed to admit it.

I thought they had said it was not tracked live by the military,it was discovered later when they checked the next day, that is why they did not challenge it.......have they changed their story on that now?

Yes they are now saying they (probably) had it on military radar flying west.

Anyone want to explain why Malay military radar would be turned on and not actively monitored or potential threats ignored?
