Bad Fitting Stair Carpet

Recommended Posts

Had a striped carpet fitted on stairs. All the way down the stairs and in the hall way the stripe goes down. On the upstairs landing the stripe goes across. This looks very odd.Had the bloke back from shop (Wilsons at Rotherham).he says it is correct the fitters have to follow the nap on carpet. But how can they when it goes one way in the hall directly under the landing that goes across.None of the door plates fit properly and there is threads loose on some edges. The bloke said he would report back to area manager. He then said but it looks ok.:help:

Because they would need more carpet to do it properly. ... think about it ... its all about charging you more and them using less carpet... horizontal and vertical... You got the cheap way form them, Less carpet and waste same price! ... Think about this ... You have wall paper and across the top of the full room there is a big gap ... Do I put lots of little pieces that match ( more time and effort & waste) or one big strip facing the wrong way all around your room. Faster for me to do it that way... Looks rubbish though.
