alchresearch
Citreon is probably worth more as diesel and newer-regardless of mileage. If its the 90bhp 2L engine then yes, they're always in demand, because they have no particulate filter or dual mass flywheel clutch, now more and more people know about the expense in repairs or replacements to the above. ---------- Post added 17-03-2014 at 10:58 ---------- he is often on long drives as he seems on holiday somewhere in the uk every fortnight....how big a deal cost wise to replace/clean the egr valve roughly ... as ive not had any experience with diesels . It all depends where the valve is. On the 90bhp 307s its behind the engine and there's no room to get to it without removing the wipers and windscreen scuttle. Haynes even recommend slackening off the engine mounts and moving the engine forward. Most owners therefore fit a blanking plate (a fiver tops) or disconnect the vacuum pipe to the EGR valve with a screw or a golf tee (free) if they're experiencing issues. But I wouldn't worry about that unless you're experiencing issues, which are rare. The best thing you can do for a diesel, particularly on Peugeot-Citroen engined ones, is regular oil and fuel filter changes, using good quality fuel and maybe an additive like Millers EcoMax. Here's an alternative idea for what to do with it - Search Google for Berlingo or Partner conversion - its a popular vehicle to make into a mini motorhome!
