Its a long time since I went into a pub in uniform and I can't say it was ever a problem, the problem of service personal suffering discrimination appears to be directly related to them fighting wars in Islamic countries.

So maybe the bans were local bans?

Also, they were banned in my local town before Gulf War 1, so it actually appears not have a relationship with them fighting wars in the Middle East. The ban cam from both the high up brass and the local establishments. During ighttime, the only uniform you'd see was the RN Provosts.

The problem appears to be much wider than them just being banned from pubs.

Ed Miliband has demanded new legal rights for members of the armed forces amid growing evidence that many suffer abuse from the public and discrimination when looking for school places for their children and applying for mortgages.

On a visit to British troops in Afghanistan the Labour leader called for urgent cross-party talks involving service charities and the military, to end all types of injustice against service personnel.

Recent polling by Tory peer Lord Ashcroft found members of the services complaining of everything from verbal and physical abuse while in uniform to resistance to them gaining access to public services and private finance.

There are enough legitimate stories about businesses kowtowing to Muslims to make this story believable, which is the real problem here.

Legitimate stories about businesses making money by giving different sections of their customer base what they want?

I thought you were pro-business?

Pubs, clubs and restaurants will be banned from refusing to serve military families, under a new bill being put forward by Labour today.

UK soldiers 'banned from pubs'

They go to war for their country but when they come home they are barred from pubs and bars......

Soldiers say some pub landlords refuse to let them in and serve them drinks........

How do you know? It doesn't actually say which businesses have been discriminating against our service personal.......

He doesn't even want to read his own posts. I know how he feels.

This quote from your link does seem to contradict your little theory about it being related to Islam in one way or another.

Hugh Andrée, chief executive of ForceSelect, a social recruitment business that specialises in assisting service leavers and veterans said:

"All too often we have experienced incidences where it has become very obvious that the perception of military personnel is stereotyped to that of the shouting, screaming sergeant major."

So it seems like our society and not Muslms may be the problem, a bit like service men being banned in clubs and pubs in my home town when I was growing up.

Thanks for clearing that up.

You have highlighted a type of business, and not the business, which pub or business bans them and who owns them, without knowing how can BF know it has nothing to do with Muslims. Answer, he can't he's just guessing as usual.

Where did I say Muslims were the problem, and why would stereotyping them as shouting, screaming sergeant major types prevent them getting school places for their children and mortgages.
