Ains
Hi, Looking for some help. We are a couple who already have a son and are getting married on 24th January next year. I'm hoping to find some readings for our ceremony which incorporate the fact that we are a family and not a couple but I'm coming up short. Can anybody point me in the right direction? I'm also looking for reasonably priced invites and save the dates if anybody has any ideas. Thanks for your help
Chez2
What do you call 'reasonably priced'? I got married many years ago so don't know the going rate. You could always make your own. You just need to think about how to get the text into the design if you are going to make your own. I'm a hobby card maker and could give you some tips but I don't make to sell. Have a look on Pinterest for inspiration.
Ains
I am unbelievably uncreative- if I made them they would look like a nursery had made them! I think 50p a card for 150 is about the mark I'm looking but I'm fairly flexible if I find a design that's truly beautiful!
Chez2
Sorry, I can't help you then. Good quality card, envelopes and paper will cost you more than that, even if you buy in bulk.......unless you are after something really tiny and can buy something you like from a discount store. I expected you to say £1.50 each. See what people will make and sell them for on Etsy, Facebook or Ebay. If you want to have a go at making your own download an invitation template or buy a CD with invitations on and print them off onto standard sizes such as A5 or two to an A4 sheet so you can put them into standard C6 or C5 envelopes. Mylo_Photo
Hiya! For your reading how about a Lovely Love Story by Edward Monkton? It's not family based as such, but it is a child's story so that could work? http://www.itakeyou.co.uk/wedding-ideas/wedding-readings-poems/a-lovely-story.htm On the same tip, we had an extract from the Velveteen Rabbit at ours http://english-wedding.com/wedding-planning/get-grounded/meaningful-wedding-readings/ Save the dates, I've come across a few stationers meeting brides looking for wedding photography that may be able to help. Try Best Day Ever http://www.bestdayeveruk.com Or Doodle run a bargain shop via Etsy http://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/DoodleWedding that could be worth a look. I've not used either of them myself, but have been impressed by their work and like to be able to share ideas with our own photography couples! Good luck! Love2print
Agree with Chez2. Although I have taken a break from making wedding invitations I can say, as someone who used to buy in bulk, to get decent card stock (not flimsy almost paper stuff), plus envelopes, glue/tape will can easily cost more than 50p. Combined with any extras such as buckles and ribbons. One buckle I used to use cost over a £1.00 wholesale (although it was rather big!). The cheaper cards tend to be either be made with cheaper materials or are printed only designs. So no fancy bits just a card with a printed design on the front. There are some here from 65p, http://www.weddinginvitations-uk.co.uk/affordable-wedding-stationery.php, never used them though but you can order a sample for 99p. Or maybe this, http://www.invitationhouse.co.uk/affordable-wedding-invitations, 60p without a ribbon. To be fair though most people could make something like this themselves if they have access to word processing software and a printer. You do not need to be too creative for something like this. Ains
I found some beautiful ones just what I wanted for 26p a piece- didn't want to buy from a big business as I wanted to support a more local venture but when you have over 100 invites to do it all adds up! Thanks everyone
