Budget, March 2014

Recommended Posts

Some nice headline grabbers today, beer duty down and escalator scrapped, ISA limit increased to £15k a year, and tax thresholds increased as we already knew.

Anyone singing from the rooftops over today's announcements or likewise anyone crying into their cheaper beer?

Since 2009/2010 I've been humming to myself "Things Can Only Get Better", and by and large they have.

Have they? How have things got better?

Lets think.

Unemployment down.

Highest level of employment EVER.

Deficit down

Growth up

Crime down

huge increase in motor manufacturing for export.

Perhaps you missed it whilst you were reading the Beano.

Sounds like the same old incoherent ranting from Ed Miliband in response. However much he says 'Same old Tories', it sounds like 'Same old Labour' to me.

Osborne broke the tradition of giving the opposition a pre-Budget briefing just so Labour wouldn't have any time to prepare anything detailed in response. Playing election games already...
