sheaf_pete
I'm doing some research on our companies history. My Dad started our business (repairing & refurbishing duplicators) in the building which we think was known locally as the old paper shop in Worrall. He rented it from a man called Storrie Greaves in 1971. It was situated at the bottom of Kirk Edge Road, near the horse trough. It has since been demolished but I would be very grateful for any information on the building. A photo of the old building would be much appreciated too. bullerboY
I remember that shop very well, the old man and woman delivered papers as well.Storrie Greaves was a big landowner in those parts and sold a chunk of it to Hassalls to build the Birch House Estate,he also owed Greaves Plating on Lock St near the Kelvin. The shop was a wooden hut and they built the big house on the land which is there now.
