Sheffield City Council ticketing in Hillsborough

Recommended Posts

No it isn't. Appeals cost nothing and if you go to tribunal, you don't even have to attend the hearing in person, you can send a letter or do it by telephone.

What "vested interest" and where is your evidence?

It's very time consuming and costly for people to gather evidence, print pictures, take time off work, respond to their nonsensical irrelevant templates. Councils purposely reject your paperwork so it's easier just to pay up, it's a bribe - accept the fine or we'll double it. They stop at nothing to raise money from motorists. They even talk about administrative errors or technical problems as though that excuses everything!

With a bit of luck and some cunning from the council, they could really make the TDF pay - plenty of chance to fleece visitors from outside of the city and to get some funds into the council coffers for a one day special!

Up the prices for parking to £5 an hour at least, as others have said already these visitors from outside will gladly pay anything to see this life-changing cycling event. Get handy with the paint pots and create plenty of new restrictions near to the route, so we can rake in even more from fines via the parking officers.

It's not like many of the visitors would have reason to come back here again, so take the chance to maximise these new temporary revenue streams...err visitors :)

Many people gladly pay through the nose to park at the Arena for bog-standard events, so surely the loaded cycling fans will be more than happy to pay over the top too, to see their heroes whizz past...

They will also reduce the amount of parking spaces in order to increase profits, this is why parking restrictions have been introduced further and further into residential areas.

If only there was a way to avoid giving them money, or doing something so you don't come under their scrutiny....

Watch the links, read the scams.

would that be more or less time consuming than appealing for a ticket?

Isnt the obvious answer to read the signs and not get ticketed in the first place?

Should i provide a link to motorists abusing CEOs? im guessing there are probably about the same number?

Did you ever watch the documentary on Bristol and the parking attendants there, some of the abuse the women CEOs had to endure was horrific.

I agree it is horrific, but the CEO's have corrupt councils and other officials like Planner1 backing their appalling behavior.

The problem is the councils and their meter maids hide behind a wall of rules and regs and are NOT accountable for dubious practices when it comes to fleecing motorists . They are not transparent what so ever .

And what about the locals that have to live with a potentially unsafe situation that at the worst case could lead to pedestrians crossing the road not being seen by drivers coming down the road and losing their live?

You are blinkered.

Yes they are blinkered I just don't understand the logic they talk half of them they go on about the way the CEOs act but the only evidence they can produce is in other city's around the country, the city's that have privately run parking enforcement. Not COUNCIL.

Some real evidence please about the terrible ways SHEFFIELD CITY COUNCIL CEOs treat the motorists in Sheffield
