monkey104
Yes I see taxi drivers doing this and the people who drive the big 4x4's (surely they have enough money to buy a hands free kit). I saw people driving today while on their mobiles. None were a taxi driver or driving big 4x4s. I did see someone in a small 4x4 but I think he was just scratching his ear. Mecky
I don't think mobile phone usage behind the wheel has increased, I think it's remained the same since mobiles have been around. I have noticed an increase in people free-wheeling downhill though
scousemouse
I can top this!! I was on a coach coming back from London, and the driver was getting bothered about his driving time running out, and was on the phone to the company to see what they were going to do about it!! I did draw his attention to the fact he was responsible for 40 odd passengers, and was against the law, he replied it wasn't something he did very often.....................Praise be, how comforting is that?!! I didn't report it to the company, what would you have done?

PRESLEY
Because I see them doing it more these days How can you see someone free wheeling in a car you couldn't see if the gear stick was in the neutral position, on a bike yes! you would see their feet off the pedals. DT Ralge
The offence could involve a 6-pointer or worse - how can the danger be got over better (with the resultant crash/fatality stats linked to phone use on the increase http://www.pressat.co.uk/releases/mobile-phone-distraction-set-to-become-biggest-killer-on-british-roads-by-2015-b6a468f05b218d410f77c56706062722/) This is worth a try: https://www.youtube.com/embed/JHixeIr_6BM?rel=0&autoplay=1&iv_load_policy=3 Edited August 2, 2014 by DT Ralge

Se7enhills
Driving whilst using a mobile phone should warrant similar punishments to drving under the influence of alcohol.
