LAUGH AT THE LOCAL

Eldon Street Sheffield (Next to Corporation Night Club)

Date -

Monday 28th April

Times -

7.30pm Doors

(curfew 10.30pm)

Acts -

Jim Smallman

Best Debut Show Nominee - Leicester Comedy Festival Awards 2009. Jim is an amusingly tattooed, manic depressive former child prodigy with tall tales of his wrongness coming out of his ears. And yet he used to be so nice...what on earth happened? This is his story so far. Jim has performed in Singapore, Denmark and Los Angeles as well as all over the UK. His stories are brutally honest, always true, and often unbelievable - and have won him an army of fans all over the world. 'Wonderfully gritty... his struggles with mental illness and alcoholism make for impressive comic pickings' (The Guardian) 'It's obvious that Jim Smallman is a natural-born compere. He has such an easy rapport with the audience and tells his tales with a fluidity and energy that keeps everyone attentive' (Chortle).

Bethany Black

Decidedly dark and deliciously different – a one way ticket to a world you never knew existed. Despite being 'unique', she's warm and chatty and has built a cult following for her brand of confessional comedy. 'Outstanding comic, laughs just keep on coming' (Channel 4).

COMPERE - SPIKY MIKE

Spiky Mike is founder of Funhouse Comedy and resident compere at all the clubs, as well as performing paid gigs at clubs around the country for respected promoters, such as Agraman and Mirth Control.

He also compered to 17,000 people on the main stage at the Nottingham Distortion Festival 2002, which featured Green Day and Iggy Pop.

Finalist in The Weakest Link!

"Hey man that was really good" Tom Stade
