BEDROCK
Rite, seeing as both BBC, ITN, Sky all sing from the same order sheet. I think nowadays it is increasingly vital to seek out alternative news outlets. Those who are not so entwined with corporate greed and propaganda. I like Channel 4 / 5 News as they do seem to offer a different angle on things but still same overall. I have always been a fan of RT News, Press TV and Democracy Now. RT and Press TV has the Keiser Report hosted by the awesome Max Keiser and Stacy Herbert. Then RT also has Breaking the Set hosted by the smart, funny and delectable Abby Martin. I have also found the following news outlets rather good and refreshing with often untold stories... http://wn.com/ http://metro.co.uk/ http://rawstory.com/ http://uk.reuters.com/ http://www.alternet.org/ http://www.truth-out.org/ http://therealnews.com/t2/ http://www.independent.co.uk/ http://en.wikinews.org/wiki/Main_Page
dosxuk
ITN produce the news for Channel 4 and Channel 5. What are your opinions on the recent revelations about the Kremlin's hand in RT's editorial control and the lack of journalistic independence at the station? Do you believe the tale about Press TV getting it's broadcast licence revoked because they had dirt on the royal family? Why have you included the Metro (Daily Mail), Reuters (one of the largest newsgathering organisations on the planet) and The Independent (Lebedev family) as independent outlets? tzijlstra
Rt as in Russia Today? Independent press is almost impossible. In the Netherlands a group of journalists tried to set up their own news agency as freelancers and publish through their own outlets online, it lasted about two months before they got done for libellous content and had no means to defend the case properly. flamingjimmy
I have always been a fan of RT News, Press TV and Democracy Now. RT is the Russian governments propaganda channel. Press TV is the Iranian governments propaganda channel. It is absolutely absurd that you think of them as independent.
