James Loxley
It's a well recognised fact that the state of roads in the UK is appalling. Do people think this is due to councils not carrying out their job properly, or are they simply not being given enough funding to make the improvements that are needed? dosxuk
It's more a lack of perspective. The vast majority of roads are far from appalling.
James Loxley
The vast majority of the general public tend to feel they are, as evidenced by the results of this extremely successful survey http://bit.ly/1mzT1uW

If only the council had commissioned a private company to resurface all of Sheffield's roads.

geared
or are they simply not being given enough funding to make the improvements that are needed? IIRC Labour slashed funding for road repairs and improvements a good decade ago and it's been desperately low ever since.
