CathS
After doing many searches on the tinterweb i have gleaned that on my newly skimmed walls i should: Paint all the walls and ceiling twice with watered down emulsion and then 'size' the wall i am wallpapering with watered down wallpaper paste. Is this right?? Ta ---------- Post added 24-04-2014 at 20:59 ---------- Anyone????

SqueakyPete
I bought a 10ltr tub from B&Q for about £11,watered it down 50/50,and it did the trick perfectly(and cheaply too). Just don't make the mistake of sizing a wall with paste, and painting over that, the water in the emulsion will just make the sized wall gooey:hihi:. Looks like your painting on top of Vaseline lol(apparently )

geared
and make sure the fresh plaster is properly dry before painting it as well, cos once the paint go's on it's going to seal in any moisture that may not have escaped.

Theres no real need for the wallpaper size anyway, just watered down matt emulsion, will also be fine for wallpaper. Make sure it is watered down though,as you will literally see the plaster suck the water from your paint.
