Farmers are the same as any self employed people. Some are scraping a living but some are multi millionaires! If it costs the police (the taxpayer) £196 to agree to the issue of a licence then that cost should be passed on to the person wanting the licence or the police should refuse to issue it. Why should the taxpayer pick up the bill for someone who wants to shoot things? It's your hobby, you pay for it. Why should we pay for the cost of issuing a driving licence? If you want to drive a car and have fun it's your hobby you pay for it.... A shotgun is a tool, just like a car is. Just because you are narrowminded enough to assume that all shotgun users are people you don't like doesnt mean that everyone should be striped with that brush. Shotguns are needed in society.
