And, by and large, it does not, outside of the more extreme forms and types of displays (by historical European standards), and outside of the specific locations and functions concerned (State departments, services <the like>). Admittedly, it's a concept better (and logically more-) suited to a republic, than a divine-right monarchy You mean, that political system which actually forbids appartenance to any form of religious faith altogether? All because our government loves Muslims! Just imagine what we'd do of we hated them, right?
