South sea
3 very good bands will be performing at the South Sea on Friday evening. Recommended gig if you like a big sound delivered with precision and professionalism. Shrine and Vasa are on a U.K. tour and will be joined by locals Fly on byrd, fly on. FREE ENTRY 16+ GIG DOORS 7PM 10:20 - SHRINE - http://shrineband.bandcamp.com/ . https://www.facebook.com/shrineuk . https://twitter.com/shrineband Have recently joined Mountains of Records ahead of the release of their double EP. Having built a reputation of being a technical, dynamic assault on both mind and ear, Shrine are beginning to establish themselves as ‘ones to watch’. The Brighton based 4 piece are nearly impossible to pigeon hole, their music is a cross between aggressive hardcore, the grandeur of post rock and the atypical characteristics of math rock. Shrine have so far supported Pelican, Deafheaven, Delta Sleep, Almeida, The Physics House Band, Polymath and headlined last years Nice Weather for Airstrikes festival. 9:20 - VASA - INSTRUMENTAL/PROGRESSIVE Vasa:- http://vasa.bandcamp.com/ . https://www.facebook.com/VasaBand . https://twitter.com/vasaband They take influences from a wide range of bands including post rock heavyweights Explosions in the Sky and Mogwai, to the more technical/math influenced music found in Foals and Battles. 2013 saw Vasa play the T Break Stage at T in the Park, a packed Solus Tent at The Wickerman Festival while being asked to support Maybeshewill, Brontide, TTNG (This Town Needs Guns), Mutiny on the Bounty, deafheaven, Alarm Bells, Axes, Nordic Giants and Kasper Rosa. I took these guys on tour last year and they were immense fun and wicked every night. 8:30 - FLY ON BYRD FLY ON - INSTRUMENTAL/PROGRESSIVE - SHEFFIELD https://www.facebook.com/flyonbyrdflyon
