CellarDoor
Hi Gemma, Can't PM you because you've run out of space! I've not done any walks around sheff, but I've just had a quick google and this looks pretty good: http://www.chrishobbs.com/sheffieldroundwalk.htm Way too long (14 miles!) but could just do a bit of it. I have been on the walk around Langsett reservoir, that's quite good: http://www.yorkshirewater.com/?OBH=522&ID=2057
CellarDoor
Just had another thought, the Rivelin valley would be quite easy: http://www.rivelinvalley.org.uk/valley.htm but maybe too short? - only 3 miles
Hillschick
Hi Cellardoor Not really bothered where to go, so long as it's out in the open air and I feel better for it after! Maybe not too adventurous at first? 3 miles is ok to begin with and Rivelin is pretty near!
Grahame
Walking is good in every way and you can make some smashing friends, the health benefits are enormous and you get to see parts of Derbyshire you wouldn’t otherwise see. I believe it helps emotionally as well and enriches your life. I’m otherwise engaged on Sunday or I would love to join in. There is always the occasional pub en route and you can do either circular routes or if you organise the cars you can start in one village where their will be a pub and finish in another village with perhaps a pub lunch. Good luck, and enjoy. I have been out in all weathers and all I have is good memories.
ZEDEX48K
I know just how you feel, I've been in sheff coming up to 2 years now and still haven't got round to exploring the countryside. Have you seen this group: http://www.sheffieldwalkinggroup.org.uk/ I might give it a go sometime, was thinking about waiting until we're out of the snowy season though. Yeah this group is good with all grades of walk, easy to hard and they stop at a pub as well! Some are hard core walkers, whilst others are just out to get a bit of excercise, fresh air and see the countryside we have on our doorstep! Try it!!
