In the Undemocratic Republic of Congo, perhaps. You clearly have no idea how the UK voting system works. The ballot boxes are sealed and when they are opened there are scrutineers from more than one party who watch as the votes are put into piles. Stop fretting. Yours ends up in the furnace, along with everybody else's. jb

mikebatty
If you think elections are so easily rigged why do you bother to vote? Could this question be answered by - " Why do the majority of the electorate not bother to vote " ? Why do the electoral boundaries have to be changed by governments in order to ensure that they stand a better chance of results in their favour ? Why don't we introduce a PR system to ensure a fairer proportion of votes per represented party system ? Could the reason be that the electorate would be more fairly represented , and that would not serve the establishment well ? Were we to have a fairer and more democratic system , more people might have more faith and trust in their democracy - and vote .
altus
Why do the electoral boundaries have to be changed by governments in order to ensure that they stand a better chance of results in their favour ? Population changes in constituencies mean that boundaries have to be changed to ensure each constituency represents about the same number of people. Governments don't institute the changes because they want a better chance of winning, they just try to take advantage of having to make the changes. I would suggest that it is not so much that the polling system is rigged , more that the electoral system is rigged - see #8 of this thread - by the government establishment . ---------- Post added 13-05-2014 at 16:52 ---------- Population changes in constituencies mean that boundaries have to be changed to ensure each constituency represents about the same number of people. Governments don't institute the changes because they want a better chance of winning, they just try to take advantage of having to make the changes. I would respectfully suggest that your response is a little somewhat naive. There have been the odd occasion when it has been fortuitous for the the government of the day to make representation to the boundary commission of its suggestions , but the opposition party's have always made their objections most vociferously and , in most cases reversed those decisions subsequently . However, that is still not to say that the system is not wholly unrepresentative .
