£2.50 per person corkage charge at Amraj

Recommended Posts

If you really want to know you could look back at my previous posts and discover that I am a mathematics teacher with a degree and a PGCE in mathematics. Since you seem to think mega has a low IQ (from where I'm sitting it appears higher than yours as he can spell and doesn't appear to be literally challenged) my official Mensa IQ is 167. What is your great profession and IQ out of interest. You can't have a few bottles of wine from the restaurant as you stated in post 47. Which part of not licensed is causing you a problem?

Can you said it again slowly in English please

If you've really got an IQ of 167 you really should be smart enough to avoid using it in an argument about corkage in an Indian restaurant. On the internet.

Does any one remember Amraj curry house at crystal peaks now moved down to Beighton village it's pot luck on the food side if you end up with a good or bad curry the dishes are expensive too some as much as £13 before rice Nans & starters etc so he knows how to charge ! It's BYO wine and larger! On the down side he charges £2.50 per person for corkage in my opinion he's shooting himself in the foot by doing so and I now I've stopped going! A lot of the regulars have done the same! Would any one else be happy to pay £2.50 per person for corkage.
Why do you all give a toss about corkage? Surely the fact that the food is a bit crap is the main issue here, nobody is going to restaurants for the low corkage charge they are going for great food. Until the food improves avoid it anyway whether the corkage charge is low, high or non existant

The corkage down at the amraj is not the only reason I decided not to go anymore my original post also said this read below! the corkage was the last straw!

Why do they not have a licence? When the Amraj was in the centre next to the UCI it was my favourite place to eat. I went a few times when it moved but nothing tasted the same. Now this could not be so surely so I thought it was just me. Since Apna at Rotherham was discovered by my partner we have gone there ever since. We did try the buffet at Amraj in the new build at Peaks but did not impress. Shame as I liked the owner guy as I too have a takeaway and use to speak to him at the cash and carry. What's the place like now at Peaks? The Aggar is it called?
