I'm arguing nothing, Im just awaiting some verification from you about a future subsidy.

You seem to be saying that they will pay £150m and get a subsidy. Which way is it? Subsidy or payment?

This is like pulling teeth. They will still get a subsidy but they will pay some of it back. So I'm arguing both will happen. Just a politically-driven accounting con trick basically.

do you think corbyn is on the payroll of the tory party. they would pay millions for someone to do this much damage to the labour party. all it seems to have cost so far is a few hundred folk at £3 each.

It could seem that way, but I doubt it. Even Cameron will soon get bored of an easy ride.

actually the safety record of railtrack was not much different from british rail in the decade that preceded it. there was one major crash that killed around 30 caused by a driver ignoring a red signal. before railtrack in 1988 there was a similar crash that killed 35 due to a signal failure. but that's not what you wanted to hear is it?

what you actually meant was there were never hundreds killed but you thought telling porkies was the best you could come up with.

Phew, that's a relief.

Only dozens dead, but hundreds injured.

What a fantastic example of private sector efficiency. Well worth £billions of taxpayers cash every year.

Yet you can't find anything about this mythical subsidy. It's like Scotch mist. As if it didn't exist.

Put your teeth back in and find a subsidy. :)

so actually despite your lies you haven't proved anything other than railways are dangerous whether privatised or state run. well done.

So, for how long should Labour have continued to subsidise this fantastic example of private sector efficiency with £billions of taxpayers money a year?

Are you arguing that EMT won't receive subsidies?

That they will go from the subsidies detailed in here for 2014/15:

https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/rail-subsidy-per-passenger-mile

To zero in 2015/16 and then pay the government tens of millions of pounds a year extra on top?

Really?

It did happen drummonds. People did die and get injured in large numbers on privatised railway lines.

Then the tracks were nationalised again and the safety record improved greatly.

Not lies buddy.

actually railway deaths before and after privatisation hardly changed. there was a massive accident before due to a signal failure and another one afterwards due to a driver ignoring a red light. it is pretty hard to blame track maintenance for an accident caused by an idiot driver, any more than you can blame the plane for a crash caused by a suicidal pilot.

a signal failure however could be put down to maintenance. so statistically safety of the track was improved by privatisation despite a huge increase in passenger numbers..

but i think we can all agree that corbyn is an electoral liability.

Passenger injuries and deaths are not the only measures of safety.

I agree that Corbyn will never get elected as PM. He's got 3 years max.
