He was talking about the USA, though my view is that his remark is as applicable to the UK.

I don't know about Labours new language, I've just seen a woman interviewed by Andrew Neill after the shadow chancellors speech. I think she was the shadow secretary to the Treasury. She kept saying " our policies are quite clear " then couldn't answer any of his questions on policy, about as clear as mud.

 

Yea you're right, it's nothing new.

They haven't been able to give a straight answer for years.

I thought it was rather a good speech.

We will have a different Labour Party from what we have seen for a few years which was very similar to the Conservatives.

They appear to be challenging the previously unchallengeable.
