It seems obvious to me that the only sensible, moderate way out of the present situation, with the country still divided 50/50 and half the population having been propagandised into a savage fury, is to be more or less neutral about Brexit

The problem with that strategy is that like it or not, the next General Election will be a Brexit election and any party not taking a position, will be marginalised by parties taking either a pro or anti-Brexit stance.

You could have a chuckle at simpleton, Diane Abbott, until you realise that as Shadow Home Secretary & potential Home Secretary, she occupies the third most important position in government.

Yes it's going over old ground but let's not forget her hypocritical stance of sending her son to a fee paying school, while rejecting the local comprehensive in her then catchment area & giving the perfectly parent excuse, (at the time), that she only wanted to provide the best educational opportunity for her son), but now wants to deny other parents the same opportunity.

It's even worse than that.

Not only did she give the hugely hypocritical answer that she wanted to do what was best for her son, but gave the rather racist response that 'West Indian mum's will go to the wall for their children'...

And that is racist, how?

I said rather racist, because whilst in of itself it isn't a racist remark, the implication is that mothers of other races wouldn't go for the wall for their children. If she didn't want to imply that, there was absolutely no need to bring race into at all.

She didn’t bring race into it, she brought culture into it.

I get annoyed with staying in Portuguese hotels because Portuguese mothers tend to allow their kids to run riot in bars and restaurants.

Is that a racist comment?

Do you consider Portuguese people to be an ethnic group/race?
