Guest sibon
Well if it's in The Guardian it must be a balanced article and I don't get my facts from silly quizes. Ha. A Ukipper talking about balanced sources. A dull Saturday night has just got a teensy bit brighter. Where do you get your "facts" from, by the way? rainbow2411
Oh please not this old chestnut again, let it go! UKIP are not rabid racist and not another incarnation of the BNP[/QUOTE] My bold= Oh please not the same old ukip are not racist line again! Adding a nodding head at the end of your post doesn't make you correct, it merely indicates your inability to engage in a rational discussion without reverting to schoolboy silliness. ---------- Post added 11-10-2014 at 23:57 ---------- Let's just call it a lucky guess:wink: A lucky guess makes me a Ukipper, how very odd you are. blake
Oh please not this old chestnut again, let it go! UKIP are not rabid racist and not another incarnation of the BNP UKIP helped themselves to the former, and quite substantial minority BNP vote though and who did not choose to stand in this by-election. Heywood was in the top 5 of BNP seats in the country in 2010 where they got the most vote share. Edited October 11, 2014 by blake
rainbow2411
It is always the case that voters will change their allegiances when they know they can't muster enough votes to win in their own right, for instance, Communist vote Labour, I haven't heard anyone accusing Labour of being rabid Trotskyites, although it is true that a sizeable number of Labour union leaders are avowed communist but that seems to be readily accepted. Phanerothyme
Nothing funnier than politics to devide a nation. I personally think that Cameron is a pompous twit, Millipede is a bloke who cant remember much and Clegg is, well a Clegg. Would Farage be any better or worse? Even Nigel would admit that his chances of becoming PM in 2015 are remote to non-existent. ---------- Post added 12-10-2014 at 02:24 ---------- Like the word 'racist', the word 'troll' is now so frequently misused that you might as well call someone a nincompoop because it is infinitely more insulting! None of the tactics used by the Left to keep the thoughts of the majority in check are working any more and it is like a breath of fresh air. I'm breathing in deep and enjoying the feeling. I think' nincompoops' is more apt anyhow. UKIP are a total shower.
hauxwell
Labour should be running scared of UKIP, now the working class are starting to realise that Labour is for middle class socialists and the public sector, UKIP appeal to the 'working class' and many of the those who have not bothered voting for a long time, come the general election it won't just be the Tories who feel the hit, I can assure you ..... Labour are losing a lot of the 'working class' they don't represent them ! A lot of people I know have never voted for years, but because of Political Correctness and immigration they say they are voting for UKIP. So yes, you are right on some of the things you are saying. A lot of elderly people who have always voted Labour are saying it is not the Labour Party any more.
Zamo
Well the first poll since the by-elections has been conducted and we can see the effect it has had by dispelling the argument that a vote for UKIP is a wasted vote. The Survation poll for The Mail on Sunday shows another surge in support for UKIP who would win 25% of the votes with Labour and the Tories on 31% and the 'What-Did-They-Used-To-Be-Calleds' on 8%. According to John Curtice, professor of politics at Strathclyde University, the poll would give Labour 253 MPs, Conservatives 187, Ukip 128, Lib Dems 11, and others, including Scots Nats and Ulster MPs, 71. Obviously very worrying for the Tories who are going to have to give up the 'please don't vote for UKIP it will give Labour power' strategy of containment because it clearly isn't going to work. There is now no doubt that the Tories are going to have to deal with UKIP and they are going to have to offer a lot of sweeteners to make up for all the insults. No good news for Labour either. This is just the first poll since the by-elections and when news gets out there that a UKIP vote really isn't a wasted vote, more people will switch. What can Labour do then? They can't compete with UKIP on the issues of immigration and the EU and it can't do a deal with them... all they can do is watch. UKIP may be a shower but people don't care. They despise the main parties who have ignored their wishes and concerns for so long. It is payback time. Edited October 12, 2014 by Zamo
