Doom
All the publicity UKIP is getting at the moment is the support they're taking off the Tories. This will just establish them in the public's mind as a very right-wing party and limit their appeal. It will also split the right-wing vote. You do like to use extremes. Regards Doom ---------- Post added 01-10-2014 at 08:26 ---------- With a name like Aaron Banks he must be one of those people that Boris accused of having sex with a Vacuum Cleaner! Looking at photos of Boris I would say he's the one who looks like he's been getting up close and personal with a Vacuum Cleaner. blake
UKIP are probably going to gain Clacton in the by election. But what will win it for them is Carswell has already been, as even his opponents would admit, a hard working MP there for a decade already. but why he will win, and probably easily win too, is because it is a by-election. If Carswell had resigned not in August but next March, too late to call a by-election and he had been obliged to contest the seat under UKIP's banner in the GE next May, he would have found it MUCH harder to win even as an incumbent and even as the good campaigner he undoubtedly is. And Clacton is probably the best bet for UKIP there is, out of just about all the 650 parliamentary seats. UKIP's grass roots oiks are clearly thinking that all Farage has to do is turn up in just about any seat in the south of England and get a seat in parliament in May. When the reality is he will find it difficult. if Farage does win a seat in May, then he will have deserved it. Because he will have pulled something off - winning a seat for a new party in a general as opposed to a by-election - that is not easy. ---------- Post added 01-10-2014 at 08:36 ---------- It is also interesting that that same survey shows a lot less people planning to vote than usual. it is not unusual, at all, for turn outs in by elections to be low. Turnout is always low in by elections. voters do not like having some git get them out to vote too often. They're bone idle. Believe it or not they are not going to thank Carswell and Farage for it. LeMaquis
You do like to use extremes. Because UKIP are very extreme. Just look at the views of some of their supporters on here. Retep blames the Jews for the Holocaust. And then there's Grant French in Stocksbridge and his anti-Semitic views; http://standforpeace.org.uk/ukip-councillor-resigns-for-saying-jewish-race-is-endemically-racist/ French signed the nomination papers for UKIP councillor Jack Clarkson in May. Clarkson is standing for the PCC vacancy to replace Shaun Wright. He seems happy to have such extreme anti-Semitic views behind him.
Doom
Because UKIP are very extreme. Just look at the views of some of their supporters on here. Retep blames the Jews for the Holocaust. No they're not. There maybe some supporters with extreme views, just like there will be supporters of Labour and Conservatives with extreme views. You constantly try and use extremes to make your point. You've become the boy who cried 'wolf', because the day when you do have a valid point, nobody will take you seriously. blake
I starting to think that UKIP don't actually want to get out of the EU. I've been thinking also that Farage does not really want to be an MP, either. At the time of the Eastleigh by-election 18 months ago I was thinking why doesn't he jump now this is his best chance if he really does want to be an MP. Farage is smart enough to know that being the leader of a party with 2 or three seats in parliament - which is the best they can realistically hope for - would be a right downer. -
alchresearch
More good news for UKIP: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-29438653 Parties need to finance their campaigns. Regards Doom BBC News said this morning that Arron Banks wanted to stand. Mr Farage had previously hinted that several MPs and Conservative figures were considering switching to Ukip. On Wednesday, he told the BBC the move was "only the start", adding that Mr Banks was considering standing for Ukip at the general election. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/millionaire-tory-donor-arron-banks-defects-to-ukip-with-100000-donation-9766314.html Edited October 1, 2014 by alchresearch

SevenRivers
Because UKIP are very extreme. Give us some UKIP policies, say 5, which might be considered extreme, and tell us why you think they are extreme.
