The Joker
If people had listened to Enoch Powell way back we wouldn't be facing this dilemma. CORRECTION: If Enoch Powell didn't invite all those immigrants over in the 1950s, we wouldn't be facing this dilemma.
JFKvsNixon
If that was true then what or who do you think has caused that desperation? Some people just do not like change, and UKIP is the party for people that do not like change. Maybe if the establishment made more of an effort to bring people along and explain why the change is necessary and try to make the change more inclusive there wouldn't be the need for UKIP. Unfortunately for UKIP and their supporters, the only thing that is constant in life is change, so they are in effect doing nothing more than following King Cnut's wasted efforts. Change is great if it benefits people. The problem is people are not only not feeling the benefit from it,they are sufferering from it.
JFKvsNixon
Change is great if it benefits people. The problem is people are not only not feeling the benefit from it,they are sufferering from it. You see here is the problem, people perceive change to be an option, unfortunatly you cannot stop the change, just adapt the best that you can to the change. The UKIP method of burrowing your head in the sand and hope that the change will stop is not a viable way to run the country. It doesn't mater how much Farage desires it, the tide will always come in.

There are several parties such as the Lib/Dems, the SNP and UKIP who will all expect to win a considerable number of seats. It doesn't really matter how you burrow your head in the sand, the chances are that one of the main 2 parties will have to come to an agreement with UKIP, the L/Ds and/or the SNP in order to form a government. martok
Some people just do not like change, and UKIP is the party for people that do not like change. UKIP in power would be a change from the others Lab/Con/Lib, therefore the people opposed to UKIP are the people that don't like change. Ellco
Why is change seen as good? Its just change.... it doesn't mean things will be better, it means they will change, that's all.
LeMaquis
... people despair of the ConLibLab clique- so UKIP is on the rise..... The main problem with that argument is that UKIP is trying to recruit as many MPs from those parties as it can while talking about holding the balance of power after the next election in the hope they'll be in a coalition with one or more of those same parties. Essentially UKIP can only hope to replace the ConLibLab clique with the ConLibLabUKIP clique.
