chalga
Mark Carny is an immigrant so he would say that, he also doesn't have a problem affording an house. Your argument would also mean that if 100,000,000 turn up tomorrow, they wouldn't be the cause of an housing shortage, it would be the fact we didn't build 100,000,000 houses ready for their arrival. Which is clearly nonsense, we simply cannot cope with the huge influx of migrants coming to the UK. It would be the cause, because like he says, the UK does not build enough houses, and hasn't done for a long time. The UK says it is 'Open for Business' to immigrants,if the UK PLC does not want immigrants to come, stop saying it is open for business............if it is open for business, start thinking in a cohesive manner that befits a government and give the immigrants that have been asked to come and work for UK PLC somewhere to live, plus all the other UK people who need houses but can't get on the housing ladder because the UK does not build enough houses. truman
This is a bit old but it shows how many thousands leave the UK for other countries: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/in_depth/6958220.stm A "bit" old?
chalga
The poster is quite correct, the EU will allow 29 million Bulgarians/Romanians to come to this country, fortunately for us they won't all choose to make the journey, but there's nothing to stop them all coming. And that's what is called fearmongering by Farage and the UKIP party, plus the right wing media, politicians and activists.
ivanava
This is a bit old but it shows how many thousands leave the UK for other countries: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/in_depth/6958220.stm Sadly it is about 250,000 fewer than are arriving, and the ones arriving are usually less qualified than the ones leaving. Doom
And that's what is called fearmongering by Farage and the UKIP party, plus the right wing media, politicians and activists. I would think 99% of the public are intelligent enough to realise the point that was being made and didn't expect 29 million to be arriving any time soon. The other 1% are probably not intelligent enough to make their way to a voting booth so won't really matter anyway. Regards Doom

Regards Doom So,no need to mention the 29Million then,no other party did,but then,no other party was trying to fearmonger to attract the vote that they needed to attract. The TIDAL WAVE never came either, but they mentioned that too. Edited May 22, 2014 by chalga
