altus
Nigel's been talking about the NHS again: Nigel Farage tried and failed to persuade his party to back his view that the NHS should be replaced with an insurance based system like they have in many parts of the world. Two years ago he said that he'd be more comfortable if the money he spent on health was invested through the market place rather than central government. He's now making it clear that he intends to re-open that debate once the election is out out of the way.
Xt500
Nigel's been talking about the NHS again: Nige doesnt do anything by the back door, you yourself said he had been talking about it.He wouldnt if he was trying to hide anything. The fact is Labour started the process of the NHS being privatised and the cons have steam rolled that process. Private money makes up a good proportion of the NHS now and always will no matter who you vote for. Many people needing operations are now being forced to pay up for them to enable them to jump the queue, this of course pushes none payers back down the queues.None of this is being shouted about of course but it doesnt mean its not happening. Anyone who thinks the NHS is now or anytime in the future going to be a free service for all is deluded.Them days have well gone and you need to keep up and stop dreaming that some bull coming out of a party leaders mouth (labour) actually contains any fact. Its not it just more kiddology, theres an election looming lol. please note that this was written many moons ago,The NHS is riddled with it now. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-428523/You-jump-queue-paying-NHS-operation.html Self feeding is what everything is about nowadays with both big partys, who cares about you or right or wrong. "And a Tory spokesman added: “The decision to contract out *Hinchingbrooke was taken by Andy Burnham.” Care UK has been handed a string of NHS deals including prison health care contracts worth £62million. Its healthcare revenue soared by 63.2% from £189.7million a year in 2012 to £309.5million in 2013. Xt500
None of which is the same thing as moving to an insurance based health system which is what Nigel favours and what the rest of UKIP were very keen to disassociate themselves from when we found out about his speech. It raises very real questions about whether we can trust UKIP's claimed policies on the NHS. The NHS is already doomed no matter who gets in,accept it and move on. The last time i saw Farage talking about it,im sure he suggested charging folk from other country's,which would relieve some pressure from british tax payers. No other party can offer that, its EU law which they are happy to adhere to.a free for all to everyone all over the world is always going to be doomed to failure.UKIP wants to make our own rules, which are best for us.I see nothing wrong with that at all. The other partys will tell you Being in the EU benefits us all,yet all our services are crumbling. How come if were getting so much out of the EU? THe EU is a one way plug hole that several countrys have already deeply regretted joining. Which politicians do you trust MORE than Nigel? lol Edited January 20, 2015 by Xt500
LeMaquis
The last time i saw Farage talking about it,im sure he suggested charging folk from other country's,which would relieve some pressure from british tax payers. Is there anything you Kippers don't blame immigrants for? The increased use of the NHS is down to people living longer as well as people going to hospital when they'd be better seen by a GP or nurse. What Farage wants is ideologically-based. He is opposed to state control of health because he's a right-wing libertarian. It has nothing to do with immigration. Nothing to do with an ageing population. Everything to do with being a right-wing plutocrat.
