I'm ex Labour as are all the other UKIP supporters I know...

I think you underestimate how peed off people are in this country.Time will tell.

Yes, similar things were said about the Lib Dems at the last election too.

Still, best of luck, and keep flying the purple flag. Farage still needs his beer tokens.

Latest Survation poll (25 Jan):

CON - 31% (+2)

LAB - 30% (-2)

UKIP - 23% (+3)

LDEM - 7% (-4)

GRN - 3% (+1)

Survation always has UKIP quite a bit higher than other polls which have them in the mid-teens;

Meanwhile in Southend UKIP have suspended four of its councillors for having themselves suspended another UKIP councillor without telling him about it;

This is true and time will tell which methodology works best. Most people agree that the dynamics (e.g. the surge of UKIP, SNP looking to wipe out Labour in Scotland etc) this time are very different and there are a lot of questions about whether the usual polling rules and adjustments are now appropriate.

I believe one adjustment that Survation make is to place more emphasis on telephone polling because they feel they get more honest responses regarding UKIP voting intentions. They are effectively adjusting for the 'stigma factor'. I think there is an element of truth in this because the Survation poll also found that only 5% admitted they were unlikely to vote, which is obviously understated and likely to be the stigma factor in effect.

Interesting too that a 23% share of the vote is projected to only return UKIP 16 seats whilst the Lib Dem's on just 7% would get a projected 27 seats. If that was to happen then I think there will need to be a serious debate about whether the first past the post systems needs to change... perhaps combine it with a review to reduce the number of MP's down to something more sensible like 300.

Some UKIP members can't seem to decide whether they're UKIP or BNP.

The chairman of Newport branch, Mike Chaffin, is complaining it is being taken over by EDL and BNP supporters, one of whom, Donald Grewar, UKIP parliamentary candidate for Newport East, posts on the BNP website. I wonder if they're some of the anti-Semitic UKIP voters who wouldn't vote for a Jewish PM;

So you think a third of UKIP voters are too embarrassed to admit it. You said it.

So you have now played the race card and the religion card.

There is, you know, a common sense card which a large proportion of the British public have.

As for the BNP, and before you mention them, Britain First, I have no time for either of them as they promote hatred to all who don't agree with them.

Why would he need beer tokens,he doesn't drink any longer.

From all I see,it's more than Ukip that needs luck.

I've never seen the main two looking so desperate,but with good reason.everyone has now cottoned on not a word they say amounts to anything but more lies and cons.
