Ballista
The pub was near to the corner of nursery street. Maybe nursery tavern, the monkey was owned by a regular not the landlord. The monkey, a chimp, was dressedinhuman clothing and regularly indecently assaulted women visitors. Oh the fities, what simple pleasures we enjoyed. cookingfat50
I would be to young to remember chimps r other pets in pubs apart from, the odd cat and dog or as I got older and able to go in pubs I did see parrots in a few, when I was young again my mum and me would walk along wood side lane at the old pitsmoor and there was a house on the left and they kept a monkey of some kind of monkey and if it saw you passing it would go manic or ape **** as they say now it was a vicious brute of a thing
