Council property

Recommended Posts

You aren't even allowed to sublet a council property after you've bought it, at least for a certain number of years.

You can buy it after 5 years and then do what you want.

Sub-letting is a big problem for councils, especially in higher rent areas.

Half the reason everything takes so long is because so much time is taken trying to weed out the liars and cheats who are trying to game the system and get a free property to illegally sub-let out.

There is nothing to stop you letting a right-to-buy purchase from day one, other than the terms of your mortgage provider.

There is a shortage of council houses, surely someone subletting theirs is actually not sticking together for UK citizens?

Reporting her is the right thing to do.
