poppet2
No. There have only ever been two so far. For who visited their site this week, see http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-27571615 What is incredible about that sight is it's a sacred for Jews, Christians and Muslims. At last, something the three main religions have in common. How ironic it's a holy site they can all agree on.
Jeffrey Shaw
And monotheism, too, surely? ---------- Post added 30-05-2014 at 16:45 ---------- I doubt if any Jews attend a Temple in the 21st century! Anyway, it's currently the 58th century by Judaism's reckoning! Even the First Temple had not been erected until the 30th century. Chronology: JEWISH YR (COMMON ERA:BCE/"BC")-EVENT 2448 (1313)- Exodus from Egypt 2488 (1273)- Entry into Land of Israel 2928 (0833)- First Temple begun 3338 (0423)- First Temple destroyed 3408 (0353)- Second Temple begun 3412 (0349)- Second Temple completed 3830 (0070CE)- Second Temple destroyed 5774 (2014CE)- NOW 1. In Land of Israel from 2488 for 440yrs. without permanent Temple. 2. First Temple stood 410yrs. 3. Second Temple stood 420yrs.

blake
. At last, something the three main religions have in common. How ironic it's a holy site they can all agree on. I don't think you realise how wrong you are and how disputed the site is. And it is only Jews and Muslims that dispute the Dome of the Rock/Temple Mount site. There is no Christian church on there. The Christian site is the Church of the Holy Sepulchre which might only be a short walk away, but completely different, and the only aggro that ever goes off there, is between rival Christian factions, not between Christians and non-Christians. ---------- Post added 30-05-2014 at 22:40 ---------- why did the Pope not visit the Church? It is only a slingshot from the Temple Mount. The BBC report does not say that he did, although I think he may have visited Christian holy sites in the West Bank earlier in the papal tour. Rather odd, a Pope not visiting the supposed exact location of the Resurrection (even though it almost certainly isn't). oh wait. He did go there https://uk.news.yahoo.com/pope-orthodox-patriarch-historic-prayer-unity-165358141.html#Is86IXp the BBC just did not make any mention of it in that report about the Temple Mount. They should have said that the Pope had already been to the most important Christian site.
alchresearch
Ah, religion ruins a thread again. This was just about the funny face he was making while chewing. Brown made countless silly expressions when he was in charge.
blake
they should have expected, given Ed had only recently given interviews about his Jewish heritage, that people would pick up that he happened to look less than comfortable eating a bacon buttie when Jews like Ed, are not supposed to eat pork. It could have been a beefburger. Or a cheese sandwich. But not a cheeseburger of course. If it had been a cheeseburger rather than a beefburger then people would have said the same. Brown made countless silly expressions when he was in charge. So you think the Dynamic Duo of VAT Man (Cameron) and The Boy Blunder (Osborne) haven't? Don't even get me started on that hateful IDS thingy
blake
what was noteworthy about that papal tour was that he flew in initially to Amman in Jordan this time, not Ben Gurion airport in Israel - although he probably left from there if the Temple Mount was the Pope's last engagement of the tour. Whereas with the previous recent papal tours to the Holy Land, the Popes arrived in Israel by plane, presumably from Rome, it would take just short of 3 hours to fly from Rome to Tel Aviv or Amman which are only same distance apart as Sheffield is from Manchester or Leeds. That change of location of arrival, was misinterpeted, by the Israelis and others. It is nothing to do with the Pope wanting to be a mediator in the peace process. It is all about the profile of Christianity in the east. The Church wants to shore up their support, in the Arab world.
