LeMaquis
So you think the Dynamic Duo of VAT Man (Cameron) and The Boy Blunder (Osborne) haven't? Don't even get me started on that hateful IDS thingy Good article from John Harris, a Labour Party member, about the lack of thinking in the Labour Party; http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2014/jun/02/labour-fake-empty-slogans-ed-miliband

Anna Glypta
What's wrong with a lack of thinking or policies? The tories edged the 2010 general election with such tatics which enabled them to seize power It probably doesn't matter to you as you would tick Labour's box even if their policy was to sell your kids into slavery. Many people on the other hand actually look at policies and make an informed decision.
Jeffrey Shaw
what was noteworthy about that papal tour was that he flew in initially to Amman in Jordan this time, not Ben Gurion airport in Israel - although he probably left from there if the Temple Mount was the Pope's last engagement of the tour. Whereas with the previous recent papal tours to the Holy Land**, the Popes arrived in Israel by plane, presumably from Rome, it would take just short of 3 hours to fly from Rome to Tel Aviv or Amman which are only same distance apart as Sheffield is from Manchester or Leeds. That change of location of arrival, was misinterpeted, by the Israelis and others. It is nothing to do with the Pope wanting to be a mediator in the peace process. It is all about the profile of Christianity in the east. The Church wants to shore up their support, in the Arab world. ** Note: the Christian reluctance to use the word 'Israel'. Odd, eh? blake
not 'odd' at all. Israel does not have any monopoly on the term 'the Holy Land'. Obviously you know that Bethlehem is not within Israel. The Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem is the 2nd holiest site to Christians after the Sepulchre and like quite a few other Christian holy sites, it is situated within the West Bank and not Israel. Jeffrey Shaw
"and did these feet in ancient times....?" No, they didn't! I agree. The line won a prize in "The Times"'s competition entitled "Famous questions to which the answer is 'no' ".
Ballista
I agree. The line won a prize in "The Times"'s competition entitled "Famous questions to which the answer is 'no' ". But surely, "Jerusalem has been builded here amongst those dark satanic mills." At least it will be if we use our brains, overcome our prejudices, cast aside our class war mentality and vote Conservative.
