Rolf Harris guilty of indecent assaults

Recommended Posts

Like I said, I had a group of middle-aged woman groping me when I was 17/18, and it wasn't just a feel.

It hasn't damaged my life, in fact, reflecting back its quite funny.

Just goes to show you that if a woman do it to a man, no milks spilt, but the other way round and it's all over the place.

there may be some men and women (but not children) who like or get off on being groped. That doesn't mean it allows a groper to have a go at anyone just in case they happen to be a member of the small subset of people who don't mind.

I'm astonished that men stare at my 15 y/o daughter when I'm walking with her - men my age often who seem to think they have the right to decide that she is there for their sexual kicks. A bloke in town wolf whistled at her as she walked down fargate with her Dad. She was angry and upset.

I asked him why he thought it OK to do that to a child & he walked swiftly away.

there's also a totally spurious argument doing the rounds that 'it was different then....' - they don't say it when someone's indulged in football violence - 'it was the norm in the 70's..happened at every match' - only when it comes to sexual abuse and violence. girls felt as violated in the 70s as they do now and the groper is guilty whenever the offence took place.

I'd love to talk to harris in the nick (I've spoken to many sex offenders over the years) & ask him , truthfully, now that he's nicked and been punished, does he even to begin to comprehend that he is a criminal who has harmed people or (as many of them do) see himself as a scapegoated victim.

I used to collect glasses in a WMC on grab a granny night.

But the grannie's grabbed a glass collector.

But does touching of someone over 18 really need a prison sentence?

(yes I know Rolf touched children inappropriately)

But how many men and woman have done it for a laugh when under the influence of alcohol?

I can quite categorically say I've never groped anyone, without their invitation, sober or drunk. I don't find inappropriate grabbing or groping at all amusing.

But isn't that a societal perception? As I said, inappropriate groping is not a laughing matter.

The last bloke who tried to grope me got a glass of martini and lemonade aimed in his direction.

These 'idols with feet of clay' have surely got us all wondering who will be next? I feel as though my childhood, which was already in ruins due to my own abuser, has had any enjoyment I got from these stars' programmes ripped away. They were just so good at putting on a false persona, I am left wondering who on earth can one trust?

And the awful thing is, is it still happening with today's famous names?

And now we have the 'case of the missing dossier' I simply don't believe Leon Brittain could read that dossier and not recognise the names and still remember them. Even if the dossier really has disappeared, he could still work with the police to get a thorough investigation started.

A possible reason why Leon Brittan is having difficulty in remembering names from the dossier that apparently 'went missing' is answered by this link that I have lifted from another thread on here:

If you mean touched children inappropriately I wouldn't think many if any at all, RH is a sick perverted individual, apparently he's on suicide watch I'd turn my back for a few minutes let him do it.

No. Keep him alive to remember and realise just what he has done, and what he is.

It wasn't "some groping". And you are excusing his actions towards an infant by somehow concluding that an under age teen somehow cleanses him.

I'm really not trying to excuse his actions & if there's more to this than I've seen reported than I sincerely apologise to his victims.

If you don't know what inappropriate touching is and think his actions were a litany of accidents then I can see how you may think he's been wrong done to.

I don't think his actions were a litany of accidents, he's clearly guilty of being a dirty old groper, just saying apparently he's not a child rapist, there are much worse around. There do seem to be some questions over the evidence given, but I wasn't in court, I'll trust the jury's verdict.

He's a sexual child offender, not your granddad who had a stack of porn in the loft.

There are much worse around who seem to be getting away with it, while Rolf is getting the book thrown at him, as an old man, for some groping he did 40 years ago. There's a scale of sexual offences & he seems to be not as bad as somebody who raped multiple very young children, caused suicides, etc.

We'll have to build new geriatric prisons for all the 60s-80s pop stars & celebrities if they'll all get 6+ years for inappropriate touching.
