Rolf Harris guilty of indecent assaults

Recommended Posts

ON the assumption that the jury will not be reading this forum (or in fact any media coverage of the trial) I can reveal that, aged 15, when working in a newsagent's shop in Pontefract, I sold Rolf Harris a mucky magazine. He was appearing at the Batley (or possibly Wakefield ?) Variety Club at the time.

I can remember being shocked that this 'family guy' type entertainer would read such stuff.

What's more shocking is that you was allowed to sell a mucky magazine at age 15.

I would also imagine that unless this was 40 years ago Harris would have sent a minnion to go buy his magazines. If it was 40 years ago the mag would have been a cleaner version of page3 in the Sun.

I wonder why these people arrested under Yewtree are all public figures and not Barry Briggs up the road

"Barry Briggs" probably has been arrested, charged and have a court date in connection. However their involvement isn't as "news-worthy".

Yes, it would have been around 1975. Can't remember the name of the magazine, but it was mild porn - one kept under the counter. You were allowed to work for so many hours a week at aged 15 then (not sure now) and if there were any rules about what we could or couldn't sell, our employer was unaware of them.

Was he a regular and did he sing to you?

No, his visit was a one-off and fortunately he did not sing. He just bought his dodgy magazine, stuffed it into the deep pocket of his coat and left.

Wonder if anyone could tell what it was.

Mod Note

If any user has any information regarding Mr Harris, then they should contact the authorities and not publish this information on a forum such as this one.

Maybe you are unaware that the song "Two Little Boys" was based on the book by Juliana Horatia Ewing called Jackanapes. Juliana was the daughter of Dr Alfred Gatty, vicar of Ecclesfield from1839 to 1903.

Not many people know that and not many people would want to know that either.

Whats the story behind jake the pegg? Was he some well hung guy.:hihi:
