Andy Posted May 31, 2014 Share Posted May 31, 2014 I might buy one when it's a proven technology. Think how much you could do during a journey if you weren't driving. If they become the norm, then maybe safety could be improved because you would eliminate the potential for human error. This means, potentially, speed limits could increase on motorways, cars could drive closer together etc. The information on matrix signs on motorways could automatically be beamed to the car so it could reduce its speed as required. Twenty years ago we barely had mobile phones and look at them now. I think driverless cars will become reality within my lifetime and will probably be running on the roads before HS2 is finished.
