megalithic
Yesterday whilst up at Cutthroat Bridge i noticed signs regarding temporary closure of the surrounding moors on certain days this month. Does anyone know where info such as this would be listed online ? TIA.

Bandylegs
The Peak District National Park Authority has a webpage with links to restrictions in the Park. http://www.peakdistrict.gov.uk/visiting/crow/crow-restrictions

megalithic
What are the moors closed for, grouse shooting? No mate, i believe that starts later in the year. It's one of the reasons i'm asking. A large part of the Derwent?* moors are closed off at the moment, and though i saw a map of the restricted areas, that i can't now remember, i've no idea why. Maybe it's due to nesting birds ? *There's currently restrictions from Wyming Brook to Moscar Moor, and beyond. Sunday was an access day, but when i approached Stanedge Edge via Moscar Moor someone let off a shot unseen, but relatively close enough for me to turn back on myself. I can get in a few long needed hours up that way over the next couple of weeks, but i don't want to waste a journey if the moor will be closed. megalithic
Grouse season starts on August 12th...Are the doing controlled heather burning now? I wish they we're. I can't see that being the case, given that grouse nest on there, and it's a shoot venue.
Se7enhills
Heather burning encourages re-growth of the plant which is what Grouse like to eat.
