jackanne Posted June 5, 2014 Share Posted June 5, 2014 to transfer it straight from one vehicle to another you need all documents for both vehicles,either at dvla office or by post to swansea,the other way is to put the private plate on to what is called a retention certificate,which means you keep the registration number and can transfer it to your new car at a later date,this way costs you £25 more. Thanks everyone Each time I have done it the paperwork took lots less than eight weeks, I think they give you this to stop you calling them up all the time. I hope you enjoy your new motor.
