Rob_1
You don't have to ring them, there's an online booking system you can use as soon as you've bought the voucher. ---------- Post added 10-06-2014 at 19:38 ---------- Do any of these places test the system before recharging? I bought my first car that has a/c but has never worked since I had it and know very little about it so don't want to spend a fortune on something that doesn't work but would cut off my right arm to have it working at the mo. They pressure test the system for leaks before regassing, but if your aircon isn't working at all (can you hear the compressor click in when you turn it on? You'll hear the engine revs slightly rise too) you need to get it looked at not just book a regas. The mistake the majority of people make is to not use their aircon for long periods and all through winter. The system contains a small amount of oil, and by using the aircon the oil circulates and lubricates all the seals. Don't use it and the seals can dry out and fail, as well as other faults developing. You need to be using it for at least 20-30 minutes per week, it makes virtually no difference to mpg anyway. carosio
Didn't they check it afterwards and confirm that it was working correctly?

capstan
It depends on where you take your car to, certain places will only regass your air con not test for leaks or check the pump. If its been regassed and the systems got a leak it will quickly fail again or the pump could be malfunctioning or not working. I would go back and have it rechecked or go to a reputable air con specialist who will check the system before regassing it.
Sony
I have had a new condenser fitted 3 weeks ago to make my A/C work again- £500 is what it cost but I thought well, at least it's all fixed. I have just come back from a holiday and noticed a green puddle under my car. Went back to to the garage who told me that the old pipe has been 'disturbed' and has split. Cost of pipe+ labour will be £335 which I simply can't afford. One of the mechanics suggested I could try finding someone who could weld aluminium. Can anyone recommend a company in Sheffield with the ability to do this? Many thanks
