Police update here...

A 29-year-old man who sustained life-threatening injuries in a three-car collision on the A57 in Todwick has died in hospital.

The collision, which happened at around 1.30pm on Saturday 14 June, involved a black BMW 3 series, a yellow Vauxhall Astra van and a white Vauxhall Astra estate.

The black BMW, driven by the 29-year-old man, was travelling along the A57 Worksop Road, from Todwick towards Worksop. The Astra van and estate were travelling on the opposite side of the road, towards Todwick, when the BMW and Astra estate were involved in a collision between Kiveton Lane and Goosecarr Lane.

The Astra van reportedly took evasive action and swerved off the road onto the embankment.

The 29-year-old man, from Sheffield, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he sadly died on Wednesday 25 June.

Four other people were taken to hospital with injuries: the 41-year-old man driving the Astra van, the 45-year-old man driving the Astra estate and two of his passengers, a 46-year-old woman and a 13-year-old boy.

Another crash in the vicinity
That's a long vicinity ;)

Aston (not Anston) and the bit of road referred to in that article are on the other side of the M1, 2 to 3 miles away from where the accident of the OP occurred.

Its less than a mile from the fire station to halfway between Goosecarr Lane and the Red Line Roundabout at Todwick.
The accident of the OP occurred nowhere near Goosecarr Lane, it occurred on the A57 after the Greenscene garden centre (towards Anston). The original article was wrong about Goosecarr Lane, as I thought at the time (read page 1).

EDIT: just used Google maps, and it's 2.3 miles between the accidents (give or take 100-200 yards).

The previous accident took place on the other side of the Red Lion, the article mentioning Goosecarr Lane was incorrect.
