daneha
Daneha is basing his disagreement with both schools of advance motoring in the UK (not with just me) Actually it is you that is misrepresenting what they say.
Sophiasbeaut
Indicators should be used as they indicate to other road users that look what you intend to do
Cyclone
Actually it is you that is misrepresenting what they say. Me and DTRalge, who I think might be an instructor for one of those schools. You speak from the experience of having done AIM or Rospa driving courses though?
DT Ralge
What they say, advise, look for is: "Signal for the benefit of other road users" and not a lot else. "Benefit" is open to interpretation, though. It would be pretty clear to me whether a driver is signalling out of (unthinking) habit (bad) or as a result of thought process (good) particularly if the driver is talking him/herself through the process. I might disagree with the analysis of need/benefit but would be happy that there has genuinely been some thought given to it.
