It's a mix of religious fanaticism and the exuberance of youth.

Clearly there are no rules in place at present to stop them re entering the country so they should get a total debrief and be told that their every move is to be monitored.

The UK was preparing to supply the Free Syrian Army (the rebels). ISIS was formed 2013 and UK and USA began to get cold feet because they were afraid that the arms would get into the wrong hands. It is now that America is re-considering to supply to the moderates, which I can't understand. USA can't make its mind up yet regarding Iraq. Could be a melting pot with Iran perhaps joining in, and the Kurds are definitely in. Russia is supplying planes. USA has a small contingent of troops in Baghdad. Israel is watching on the sidelines. Hang onto your seat belts.

That's foreign policy. One day you support Saddam, the next day you bomb him. One day you support the Mujahadeen, the next day you wage a war against them, one day Assad is our friend and a bulwark against extremism, the next day the Government asks Parliament to go to war against him.

Lets face it, foreign policy has nowt to do with who is right or wrong, it's just a game of shady politics.

If they want to go and fight on foreign shores for what they believe in, how are they different from employees of the state or indeed the countless mercenary companies that operate in the area?

Are we telling the Aegis Defence Services lads not to come back? Once you drill down into the whole issue the only conclusion is: they are all idiots, if they want to go over and risk getting killed for a piece of desert, let them go and knock themselves out.

I would think most people would agree, the question is though those who witness and partake in killings be allowed back here into society.

I hope the UK border force is capable of tracking the movement of such people, no doubt once some get a taste for the violence they go so far to fight in may be capable of bringing it back into our society.

The Aegis Defence Services lads are welcome to come back, I presume. Good luck to them.
