Lobos
Black smoke from the the car is unlikely to be the turbo, black smoke under acceleration from a diesel engine usually indicates something not right with the fuel system IE the injectors the fuel pump or something like that, did they change the fuel filter when they serviced it? try running some diesel cleaner through it,diesel engines are very dirty things and they tend to clog up a lot it they are not serviced regularly... yellowperil
Do you get any diesel smell in the car at all? If you do it may be the injector seals that are leaking. If not it sounds like it may be the EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) valve. Do you do long journeys and hit the revs or just pootle along on short journeys? razvanalbu
it can be leaking injector seal to split hose. you will be better off taking to someone who is use to working on ford as they will know all the weak bits on the car
sierraman
I suppose in this instance picking the diesel was a bit of a bad choice... How many miles are you going to have to do to save the £1000 it costs to put right

Boothybabe
Not answering the question but, if you see a car or van throwing out quantities of black smoke you can bet it's a Ford. Is there a problem with their diesel engines? No............
skat man
How much to replace a turbo on Fiesta 1.4 TDCi About : £350. However Its not a turbo problem you have. !!! ---------- Post added 03-08-2014 at 05:01 ---------- >>> Read This <<< ---------- Post added 03-08-2014 at 05:08 ---------- When the turbo starts to go the car will shut down at 3000 rpm. Mostly when engaging third gear. The turbo has nothing to do with "omitting black smoke" , Or any other colour.
