Riannon
Who to? The people you want to talk to only want to kill you and deny you any sort of exsistance. Do you think they are interested in talking to you or just willing to keep on shooting? I think you have as much chance having a sensible dialogue with that one as Israel would trying dialogue with Hamas.
kaylee1
Your guess is wrong. Not just according to the UN, but also the Israeli army themselves, who just last week estimated that 60% percent of the casualties so far in the current conflict in Gaza are civilians. The UN and various Gazan organisations say it's 80% civilian casualties, the IDF say it's 60%. The truth is probably somewhere in the middle, in any case it is certainly not the case that "most of those that have been killed in Gaza are combatants and not civilians", quite the opposite. How does an estimate prove that my guess is wrong, an estimate is just a guess otherwise they would know the precise figures, and how do they tell the difference between a dead civilian and a dead combatant? ---------- Post added 30-07-2014 at 17:25 ---------- Ok flip that around, how does Israel know that they are fighters ? How do they know the kids were involved in anything ? There are posts on this topic claiming the kids were building tunnels, how is that known ? Israelis don't even know where the tunnels are so isn't it a little strange that they claim to know the children helped build them ? Fighters are usually fighting, firing weapons, working in a group and if one or several members of that group are killed it is very likley the rest of the group will take the weapons and ammunition, the dead will then look like innocent civilians. Who do you think is killing the Israeli soldiers? About 576 Palestinians have been killed, Gaza Health Ministry officials said. It's unknown how many were militants. Israeli military sources said several hundred Hamas gunmen had been killed.
blake
How many Gazan's do you think used to live in Israel, my understanding is that the overwhelming majority were born in Gaza, some were born in Egypt, and other surrounding countries. The vast majority of Palestinians that were born is Israel are Israeli citizens and still live in Israel. you can be sure, that they do not want to tear up their Israeli ID and passport cards, for Syrian and Egyptian ones. ronthenekred
how do they tell the difference between a dead civilian and a dead combatant? Usually when it's lying dead next to its dead mother and aged about 4. Fighters are usually fighting, firing weapons, working in a group and if one or several members of that group are killed it is very likley the rest of the group will take the weapons and ammunition, the dead will then look like innocent civilians. Not surprising at the age of 2. Who do you think is killing the Israeli soldiers? As a process of elimination, not 2 yr olds.

About 576 Palestinians have been killed, Gaza Health Ministry officials said. It's unknown how many were militants.Your figures are way off, where are you getting them? Certainly not from the Gaza Health ministry, who are currently quoting over 1300 people killed.

Halibut
Only a minority of dead Gazans are children, most are men. It currently stands at 218. Approximately one in seven. That's all right then.

They bring out bodies from all over and stick them in the ruins. Half of them were probably killed for being the wrong types of Muslims as is happening in Syria and Iraq. By the way what do you think of negociating with the various factions in Traq and Syria. When the cameras move on so do the bodies. Israel will stop bombing Gaza when Hamas stop firing rockets at Israel.
