Pkingy
Phoned BT today to report a fault on the line. Why do they only have time slots between 8am to 1pm or 1pm to 6pm. either way i'm going to lose money by having time off work
ECCOnoob
Presumably because if an engineer turns up to job A they dont know how long the repair will take until they arrive. They then need to fix it before they can move onto Job B. If they had specific allocated time slots which then are missed or delayed would most likely lead to more complaints from customers. Managing client expections and all that.
skat man
Point well made ECCOnoob . Fortunately for me I have had no problem with BT.
Andy
I think this is common - it's rare to get a company who will commit to an exact time unless it's a full day's work. Virgin Media are the same. In any case even if they could specifically say they were arriving at 10:45, surely you'd still lose money as you'd not be able to do a full day at work? clinteastwoo
I don't like BT, they had a monopoly for too long and dragged their feet when it came to opening up their infrastructure in order to promote competition in the market. Over priced and poor service.
Alien52
Always had a wonderful service from them. Does the OP expect someone to turn up at 7.30 pm and be able predict exactly how long a repair will take before they arrive ?
geared
Well obviously, I mean they only ever have one type of fault, but they like to give their engineers a half hour break inbetween jobs - just to annoy their customers.
