Why our boycott campaign against Israel makes sense #BDS

Wise up. I know it isn't easy for you. The Pakistani government doesn't a policy to promote honour killings.

No, it's a fair comment. Are you boycotting anything Syrian, Chinese (Tibet is still occupied as far as I know - and that's the tip of a nasty human rights record) Russian ? Why isreali stuff and nobody else - even just a bit?

Am I boycotting anything Syrian, Chinese or Russian? When did you last see a Syrian, Chinese or Russian product on sale anywhere?

Have you ever tried not to buy Chinese products? It's actually very difficult to do as they make an awful lot of them....

I don't buy them for the reason of Tibet but it's difficult avoiding them at times.

Jesus Christ you didn't strike me as that naive - you are almost certainly wearing something that's made in china and there's a fair chance your mobile phone was made there and that's for starters. By any standard, and we'll use amnesty international for the sake of argument, china has the worst human rights record by a mile.

I don't know what Syria or Russia export that could be easily boycotted (but we'll assume caviar and higher end vodkas) but it something you could do if you wanted to. Do you want to?

Russia ranks as 14th in a list of the UK's main trading partners for exports and 16th for imports, according to HM Revenue and Customs figures for 2013.

The UK imports more goods from Russia than it exports. From 2001-11 UK goods and services imports from Russia rose by just over 270%, while exports to Russia rose by 430%.

In 2013 Russia was the second biggest export destination, outside of the EU, for cars built in the UK - accounting for 9.5% of all vehicle exports.

The UK also supplies business and financial services, worth almost £1.7bn in 2011.

China is the 3rd on the list of countries selling to the UK. Over £25 billion last year. Israel doesn't even rank a listing.
