Sheffield Chess Coach Publishes New Book

Recommended Posts

Ken Norbury, generally accepted to be the top chess coach in Sheffield has published a chess book. He is an Accredited ECF Chess Coach.

Although the book is about an unusual opening system it contains lots of advice about chess generally.

Anyone (under ECF 170) who reads this book will improve their game.

The opening system should only be used by chess players with an open mind, and generally those who want to play chess but not learn lots of theoretical lines.

Ken is known as a professional, but light-hearted chess player who enjoys unusual openings.

He is a qualified tutor/ chess coach who has spent a lot of time coaching schoolchildren and other youngsters at SASCA (Sheffield Area Schools Chess Association) Chess Club in Handsworth.

He is also active at Ecclesall Chess Club where he plays for a number of their teams in the Sheffield League.

He also carries out coaching at the club from beginners up to a strong level.

The book is called the Shuffleduck and will shortly be available from Chess Direct.

Currently it is available from SASCA and Ecclesall Chess Clubs.

SACA Chess Club can be found at Handsworth Christian School on a Monday evening.

Ecclesall Chess Club meet on Wednesday evenings at the Abbey Pub, 944 Chesterfield Road, Woodseats, Sheffield S8 0SH
