I'm sure you're well aware that if someone claims that something not readily detectable exists, it's up to that person to provide the proof, it's not for others to disprove. Would you be happy to provide proof that purple unicorns don't exist or would you say it's up to the person making the claim that they do? There are a great many irrational and unusual beliefs held by many different people, but all these beliefs have developed at some point since birth. Why is the nervous "wiring" for the human eye in front of the retina where it gets in the way. 2. The vas deferens? Why? I mean why loop it about like that? Come to that what on earth is a toxic waste pipe doing in a recreational area? 3. Why does the inferior laryngeal nerve in the giraffe go all the way from the brain down to the chest, loop round some blood vessels and go all the way back up to the larynx? 4. Blood groups? Why on earth? Cant we just have the same blood group so transfusions dont kill people? Once you've answered them come back and I'll give you dozens more... First of all, its not even a scientific argument but rather philosophical one. So first , please define perfection in your opinion. Are you talking about a utopian type perfection or a 'as good as it gets' type? The way things are, I'd say it is as good as it gets- no theist believes in a utopian type of perfection- pretty much all accept life here is temporary. Since you listed a few examples- can you offer an alternative design? Then illustrate the advantage such an alternative design would have over the current design. Have you made drawings of this yet? If so, has it been passed to er...ahem...let's say your favourite scientist to create it in their lab... So lets start with the vas deferens (no point running through the rest until you have given a detailed version of how it should be- with drawing please). Outline your viewpoint and prove to us that this alternative is possible in the first place. In other words, show us how your design is workable, from genotype to phenotype- and it has to be from early development through to puberty and adulthood. When this is done, and we have a full script, only then we can begin discussing which of the two designs is best and keep all circumstances under consideration. I am sure it won't take you long.. You have to refute my assertion - and you don't get to do that by asking questions. I've made the case that the items in question are not the best design they could be. As such I need do no more. You're comparing a unicorn with God. No I'm comparing one fairytale with another. It doesnt matter how you dress them up, they are still fairytales that make extraordinary claims and can therefore be dismissed without evidence to prove them. As a matter of fact - a purple unicorn is actually more beleivable than god(s) as all it requires is a point mutation in the code selecting for colour of coat, and a similar mutation in that for growing a horn.
