Because medical science does not rely on magic or the supernatural. Leprosy can be cured. As far as I am aware, Jesus didn't offer advice on how to avoid leprosy or what caused it. That is one of the premises of your argument. That your god, even if he wanted to, could not design an eye without a blind spot. Is that really the argument you're making? Bear in mind that we humans have designed eyes without blind spots ourselves in a sense, they're called cameras.
