Propaganda
Plug's 9th Birthday // Saturday 4th October Give us our birthday bumps, slam a cake on our table and sing your hearts out… it’s our 9th Birthday! Over the past 9 years we have presented you with a smorgasbord of world-class acts; The Prodigy to Arctic Monkeys; Sasha to James Blake; Bonobo, Deadmau5, Public Enemy and of course, Jarvis Cocker. With acts of this magnitude gracing our stage in the past, we thought it fitting to bring you the same standard of artists in the present. This is our birthday gift to ourselves, and we’re inviting you all to join us for… Live & Earth Room: '2manydjs' Delivering everything from jazzy r&b to brain-shaking techno, prog-rock to trip hop, the Dewaele brothers possess one of the most impressive record collections we have ever witnessed, allowing them to create one of the most intriguingly brilliant DJ sets you are likely to ever hear. Their miss-match-hit-smash remixed creations of tracks such as Destiny’s Child’s ‘Independent Women’ x 10CC’s ‘Dreadlock Holiday’ are something to behold, but 2manydjs have a multitude of other skills in their utility belt which will be fed into your special little tympanic membranes. Neutral Room: The Desperate Sound System (A.K.A Jarvis Cocker, Steve Mackey and The DJ Pipes) Did you read the heading? If yes, I bet you’re sat there in a state of bafflement, excitement and awe. Well, this immense side-project from some of the most influential musical artists in Sheffield, no wait… the world, is something that you simply cannot miss! The aforementioned Jarvis Cocker goes down in our history books here at Plug after his previous sell-out shows, and we are giddy that he will be returning for our 9th Birthday. Legendary Pulp bass-player and producer extraordinaire, Steve Mackey, joins Jarvis behind the decks, offering his vast knowledge of musical design to you beautiful people. Finally, The DJ Pipes, what can we say about him? There’s very little that Pipes hasn’t dabbled in musically – he is honestly one of Sheffield’s most talented artists and DJs and is rightfully hailed by many as so. The Desperate Sound System promise to deliver a DJ experience jam-packed with legendary chit-chat from Jarvis as well as a musical set that will leave you flabbergasted. Get ready to dance our 9 year old floor into dust, Sheffield!
