Stan Tamudo
But the overwhelming majority are somewhere in between, not rich and not poor and not affected by austerity measures, and not jealous of the wealth of others, they are happy for things to carry on as they are and will support an hard line against the poor if they try to disrupt the status quo. That's another one for the sticker album!

Overwhelming majority? Are you sure? And are you sure the overwhelming majority are happy to see the NHS slowly disappear while billions are spent on defence? While banks are bailed out to the tune of billions? It won't be long until your so called overwhelming majority are pushed down to a level they aren't happy with either. No amount of media propaganda, mind numbing TV and political spin will cut it then!
Obelix
No chance would the majority of Americans vote for getting rid of nuclear missiles for a "socialist" health care system. A more interesting question would be to say you can only have the nukes if you have a social health system as well. That'd be a very interesting debate... That being the case it says a lot about priorities does that. Americans soil their pants when they hear the word "socialist" in the context of healthcare. The right have pretty much put pay to that bit of propaganda, McCarthyism and its legacy is still stuck in the throats of its citizens The NHS is paid for by every one of us in the UK, only at the point of delivery is it free. You never hear of Americans complaining of free education at the point of delivery as a commie "socialist" ideal. Give them a choice of ridding "socialist" education or ridding missiles and they'd probably go for ridding education if you tag it with socialism. The majority understand the need for austerity, the need for the bank bail outs, the need for NHS reform and the need for defense spending, and they think the poor should work harder if they want more. Yes, it's important to work hard. Other than that point, your very wrong.

There is no government that reflects my opinion! I don't vote and i'll continue not voting. The only way to make them take action is by taking action. Alan Ladd
That's another one for the sticker album! So it should be, as it is correct in every way. ---------- Post added 26-09-2014 at 09:38 ---------- There is no government that reflects my opinion! I don't vote and i'll continue not voting. Other than that point, your very wrong. I and I believe the majority, disagree with you profoundly, it is simple common sense, if you have a government that grossly mismanage the economy leading to financial collapse e.g. LABOUR, you must counterbalance that with a government that is prepared to repair the damage done. e.g. Tory/Liberal. Austerity is the price we all have to pay for the extravagance, stupidity and ineptitude of the left.
